I am originally from Marshfield WI but currently reside in Appleton with my family, my wife Leah, three extraordinary kids; Keaton (17), Owen (15), Emma (12). We enjoy travel, athletic events, hanging outdoors, and movies.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison where I was an assistant drum major and trumpeter for the UW Marching Band. I taught social studies at Brookfield Central High School and Green Bay Preble High School before moving into school administration in 2004 as an Associate Principal at Green Bay East High School. In 2007 I left Green Bay to join the Appleton Area School District (AASD) where I remained for 15 years.
The first four years I served as Principal of Tesla Engineering Charter School and Associate Principal of Appleton East High School; the last 11 years I had been Principal of Appleton East High School and Appleton eSchool. I earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership in 2004 and a Doctor of Education in Leadership, Learning and Service in 2018, both from Cardinal Stritch University.
