Oriole Academy
Learn the story. Understand the system. Help us fly forward.

The School District of North Fond du Lac is launching Oriole Academy, a community learning experience designed for parents, guardians, alumni, business partners, civic leaders, residents, staff, students, and community members who want a deeper understanding of how our schools work.
Born from the Let's Fly Forward Community Summit, Oriole Academy is one of the district's next action steps to strengthen trust, increase shared understanding, and build stronger connections between our schools and the community we serve.

What Is Oriole Academy?

Oriole Academy is a 9-month learning experience for a selected group of community members who want to better understand the mission, priorities, operations, challenges, and future direction of the School District of North Fond du Lac.
Participants meet once per month. Each session focuses on a different part of the district, including teaching and learning, school finance, student services, safety, governance, facilities, student voice, and future-ready learning.

Who should Apply? Parents, guardians, students, alumni, staff, employers, senior citizens, civic leaders, nonprofit partners, and residents.

Time commitment? Nine monthly sessions during the 2026-2027 school year. Opening session: 8:00-10:00 AM. Remaining sessions: 8:00-9:30 AM.

What can I expect?

- Learn directly from district leaders, principals, teachers, students, and Board members.
- Visit schools and see the daily work of learning, support, operations, and safety.
- Understand how finance, staffing, instruction, student services, and facilities connect.
- Build relationships that strengthen trust between the district and community.

Let's Fly Forward Summit 2025/2026

The Let's Fly Forward Strategic Summit brought together students, families, staff, and community members to identify district priorities and shape a shared vision for the future. The process highlighted five key focus areas—school culture and safety, academic achievement, finance, community partnerships, and staffing—while defining the knowledge, skills, and character traits students need to succeed. The resulting white paper serves as a roadmap to guide district decision-making and long-term strategic planning.
