Every day there are children at our school who are distracted by physical discomfort or are embarrassed by the clothes they wear. It is difficult to learn when you are too cold, too hot, or feel ashamed. Our students cannot be expected to do their best in school until their basic needs are met.
Fortunately, there is a simple solution to ensuring that these obstacles are removed. Through the Nurturing Nest, we can all work together to help meet the immediate needs of our students. The Nurturing Nest collects gently used shoes, clothing, and personal hygiene products such as deodorant and toothbrushes, from members of our community and provides them free of charge to students in need.
Any student in need, because of financial difficulties, is eligible to use the services of the Nurturing Nest. The Nurturing Nest is a private and safe environment that is neat and organized. Students' use of the Nurturing Nest is confidential. If you are in need please fill out the below form, the information that is obtained via this form will allow us to immediately begin to put needed items together. You will be contacted by one of the three Nurturing Nest facilitators: Mrs. Broten, Mrs. McDowell or Mrs. Vander Pas.
